When Francine and her little brother, Max, play pirates, Francine is the captain of the ship… and Max has to walk the plank.            

When they play explorers, Francine is the leader of the expedition…and Max carries all the supplies.  
 
When they play animal hospital, Francine is the veterinarian… and Max is the sick dog.  

That’s how Francine and Max always played…until one day Max came up with his own idea.

SUMMARY: When Max wants to put on a circus, Francine immediately appoints herself the star of the show and designates Max as her assistant. Francine juggles balls, tames tigers, and rides a wild stallion.  Max begs to participate, but Francine refuses to give up center stage. When Max gets fed up and jumps into the act, the two kids try to one-up each other with disastrous results.  Through argument, compromise, and imaginative play, Francine and Max eventually come together to put on the best circus ever.
